A single jet water meter is a specific type of water meter that uses a single jet mechanism to measure water flow.
The design of a single jet water meter enables it to provide accurate flow readings, and some models are also equipped with pulse/reed switch outputs, which gives them additional advantages in automation and remote monitoring.
In addition, the design of a single jet water meter is usually very compact, with small size and low cost. This design makes the water meter easy to install in environments with limited space.
The working principle of a single jet water meter is based on its internal impelle and radial vanes, which are also called fan wheels. When water flows through a single jet water meter, the water enters through a single jet and drives the impeller to rotate. The rotation speed of the impeller is converted into flow and recorded on the water meter.
Specifically, when the water flows through a single jet water meter, it directly and undividedly hits the radial blades of the impeller. This design makes the structure of a single jet water meter relatively simple, and its main advantage is its low cost.
However, since the water flows through the impeller on one side, the impeller's bearings will be subject to higher wear, so its service life is usually shorter than that of a multi-jet water meter.
In addition, the interior of a single jet water meter must be manufactured very accurately to ensure accurate control of the water flow path and obtain accurate readings.
This type of water meter is often used for household water metering because of its low design and manufacturing costs.
Single jet water meter is widely used for recording domestic water flow, such as measuring the consumption of hot and cold water in residential areas or apartments.
In addition, single jet water meter also has excellent adaptability in commercial applications.
Single jet water meters can be divided into dry dial single jet water meter and wet dial single jet water meter according to whether the counter is in contact with water. Among them, dry dial single jet water meter does not fog and has a longer service life.
According to the different ways of recording water flow, it can usually be divided into ordinary single jet water meter and pulse output single jet water meter.
Pulse output single jet water meter is a water meter used to remotely measure water flow, and its core function is to convert water flow into pulse signal output.
This water meter is usually equipped with a pulse transmitter, which sends a pulse signal every time the water wheel rotates.
Pulse output water meter measures water flow by recording the number of times water flows through per unit time, and converts these times into pulse signal output.
According to different materials, single jet water flow meters can also be divided into plastic single jet water flow meters, brass single jet water flow meters, etc.
According to the applicable water temperature, it can be divided into cold water meter and hot water meter.
The cold water meter is blue, the hot water meter is red, and the temperature range is different. Cold water meters cannot be used in hot water systems. Hot water meters can be used in cold water systems.
