The working principle of volumetric water meter is to measure the volume of water flowing through the pipe by means of some known volume metering chambers that are successively filled and discharged with fluid and a mechanism driven by the fluid.
This water flow meter uses mechanical principles to separate the fluid into individual parts and count these parts, so it is also called positive displacement water meter or simple displacement water meter.
